Jaipur: Congress leader and former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot has appealed to the central government to repeal the agricultural law and not make it a prestige issue. Pilot has also asked farmers and states to draft an agricultural law after consulting the new head. Congress leader Pilot said on Thursday that the central government should immediately abrogate these laws, leaving the insistence.

He said that the BJP could not get its allies like the Akali Dal to agree on agricultural laws. So how does she expect that farmers will accept these agricultural laws. It is worth mentioning that Pilot made this statement a day before the proposed visit of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi to Rajasthan. Rahul will inspect several areas of Rajasthan to raise voice against the three laws. Pilot said that the central government should bring laws that farmers want and not something that can be imposed on farmers.

Pilot hit back at the Congress accusing the BJP of 'uturn' and said that the BJP was accustomed to 'uturn', while the Congress' stance was consistent on all issues. He claimed that the BJP had overturned on GST, MNREGA, FDI and many other issues. Pilot said that Congress had said that we want more investment in agriculture, more mandis and liberalization of the system. But we did not even say that we will bring laws contrary to the interests of farmers.
