Indian champion cricketer Sachin Tendulkar believes the players in the Duleep Trophy focus more on individual performance than the team and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly should change that. Tendulkar said, 'I want Ganguly to see the Duleep Trophy. It is such a tournament that players focus more on their performance and the next tournament and play accordingly.
He said, "If there is an IPL auction or a T20 tournament or an ODI, then the players play the same way. They do not play for the team. This needs attention and it also needs to be changed. The Duleep Trophy was a five-team regional tournament, but now India Blue, India Green and India Red teams play in the round-robin format.
He said that it should be played immediately after the Ranji Trophy final and should be between the four teams that have reached the semi-finals and play the entire season together. He said, 'There will be two more teams with the top four Ranji teams in it as there will be many teams which will have talented players but are not able to qualify. These players can be taken from different teams under-19, under-23. '' Sachin said, 'I want to see a change in the Duleep Trophy because cricket has always been a team's game. It is about team spirit and playing together as a team. It should not focus on individual performance.
