Lucknow: A married woman was found alone on the roadside in the Kursi area of Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district and molested by two youths who came in a pick-up van, police said on Sunday. Meanwhile, the married woman's brother-in-law came there and opposed them, youths called their colleagues and beat up the brother-in-law. The police have registered a case in this regard. The victim is also the head of the panchayat of the Baddupur police station area.

The woman head of the gram panchayat in the Baddupur police station area informed that on Monday, she along with her brother-in-law had gone to Lucknow to get medicines. In the evening, she was returning home on a bike. On the way, her brother-in-law went to defecate near Umra Industrial Area. She was standing alone near the bike. Meanwhile, a pickup stopped there. Farhan and Saddam, residents of the village Amarsanda started molesting the married woman. When she opposed, they started misbehaving with her. Meanwhile, her brother-in-law also reached there. When he opposed the accused, Saddam and Farhan started beating up her brother-in-law. The sister-in-law was also beaten up while intervening.

The victim said that the accused had called two other accomplices to the spot. The four men together beat her and her brother-in-law. In the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against both the named accused and two unidentified people and started an investigation.
