New Delhi: Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has supported fireworks on Diwali. He supported this, saying the worry of air pollution does not mean preventing children from experiencing the joy of firecrackers. He further said that, as a sacrifice for them, walk to your office for 3 days and let them enjoy bursting crackers.

On the other hand, The Earth Sciences Ministry's air quality forecasting agency 'Safar' has reported that pollution caused by stubble burning could account for up to 38 per cent of Delhi's PM2.5 pollution two days after Diwali, november 6. Safar's founder project director Gufran Baig has said that due to record rainfall and wind friendly direction in October, the contribution of stubble burning to Delhi's air pollution has been low so far this year.

However, it is expected to increase to 38 per cent by November 6 as the wind direction is likely to change northwestwards after Diwali. In Punjab and Haryana, smoke from stubble burning comes towards the national capital due to northwesterly winds. Last year, on 5th November, the share of stubble burning in Delhi's pollution had reached 42 per cent. In 2019, the stake was up to 44 percent on November 1.
