Indore: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a saint who had come to receive prasad at a religious event in Madhya Pradesh's financial capital Indore late on Wednesday night. It is said that the saint took this innocent to a deserted room and started doing obscene acts with her. After the child raised an alarm, the residents of the vicinity gathered immediately, but by then Baba had fled. When the police received the news, they found out about baba and arrested him and booked him under Section 370, including POCSO.
Station House Officer Pawan Singhal said, "A Bhandara was organized at Mahalaxmi temple in Silawat Pura under the Chhatripura police station area late on Wednesday night. Where Abhiram Das Tyagi, a resident of Uttarakhand, also reached. The 53-year-old saint was made to stay at an ashram in the city. Abhiram Tyagi was also invited to eat prasad at the Annakoot event at Mahalaxmi temple.''

When the child raised an alarm, Abhiram Tyagi fled from the spot. Subsequently, the residents informed the police and after some time Abhiram Tyagi was arrested. The same baba has confessed to his crime and a case has been registered against him under Section 377 including POCSO Act.
