Pawan Kalyan had extended his support to the makers of Deva Katta's Sai Dharam Tej and Aishwarya Rajesh starrer Republic. The actor said, "I have never been to any of Tej's film festivals because I want my nephew to be independent. But I am here today because he met with an unfortunate bike accident at the time of the film's release (on October 1). The reason is in the hospital.

Saying that, he was hurt by all the speculations surrounding the accident, confirming that the actor is indeed in a far more critical condition than the health bulletin states that he has regained consciousness. "It is said that he slipped because he was driving irresponsibly. While I do not believe this to be true. Tej is still in a coma and has not opened his eyes yet." He said. Madhapur police had registered a case against the actor for speeding and endangering life.

Pawan Kalyan said the film industry is a 'soft target' and added that 'don't push us till we snap'. “Every day more than one lakh people depend on this film industry. I don't mind if gang rapes me, but if film industry is targeted, please speak up. This also goes for my brother, who has a soft heart, so instead of demanding, he pleaded with the AP government. But the time to be good has passed. I also request Mohan Babu to speak at such a time. To be a mute spectator to all this will mean that there will be no one to stand for you when the time comes."
