The movie Saina featuring Parineeti Chopra in the lead has hit theaters on Friday i.e. March 26. The biopic of India’s ace badminton player Saina Nehwal is directed by Amole Gupte and produced by Bhushan Kumar. The biopic is a sports drama based on the life of badminton champion Saina.
Sources say the earlier, actor Shraddha Kapoor was proposed to play the role of Saina but she backed out for the movie Street Dancer 3D. After which Parineeti was chosen for essaying the titular role of Saina. A good buzz was experienced around the film. Not just this, even the songs captured the attention of the audience which is why a power-packed performance is expected at the box office. But then the trailer and posters couldn’t really stand out on the buzz created by all the fellows of India. The audience after the release of the trailer seemed mildly excited for theater release. Now, the movie is receiving mixed reviews on social media. It seems like makers are in distress as the film has become the target of piracy sites such as Tamilrockers, Telegram, and movierulz among others. Yes, the movie Saina was leaked online on day 1 of its release in India that too in HD quality.
Unfortunately, the issue of the leak has now become the reason for concern for the makers. The online leak has affected badly in Box Office collection. The film is released in the Hindi language across cinemas in India. However, this is not the first time any movie is affected by piracy. There has been a number of movies that have been target by the piracy website leaked a film or a show. Earlier, films and shows such as Godzilla vs. Kong, Mumbai Saaga, Jathi Ratnalu, Sreekaram, The Priest, Roohi, Bombay Begums, Lahore Confidential, Pudhu Kaalai, Sufiyum Sujatayum, AK vs AK, Laxmi, Ashram 2, Ludo, Chhalaang, Dark, Rasbhari, Bulbbul, Paatal Lok, Aarya, Penguin, Gulabo Sitabo, Chintu Ka Birthday, Choked and among others became the target of the piracy sites. In the past, several strict actions against such sites but the saddening news is that the team behind the site appears with a new domain every time. Talking about the existing Tamilrockers site is banned but they take a new domain and runs the pirated versions of the movies.
