Chennai: 21-year-old Sainikesh Ravichandran, a resident of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, will now be seen fighting with the Russian army. He enlisted in the Ukrainian army after the start of the war. Sainikesh's parents were also not aware of this. When he came to know about this, the ground slipped under his feet. Actually, Sainikesh Ravichandran had gone to Ukraine in 2018 for studies. He was studying at the National Aerospace University in Kharkiv.

His studies were to be completed in July, 2022, but before that Russia attacked Ukraine and everything started getting ruined. According to media reports, after Russia's attack on Ukraine, Sainikesh's contact with his house was completely cut off. At the same time, the Indian government launched Operation Ganga to evacuate Indians from Ukraine, but after not getting any information about Sainesh, his parents contacted the Indian Embassy in Ukraine.

When the embassy officials came out with the information, it came to know that Sainikesh has now been recruited in the Ukrainian army. He told that, he has enlisted in the Ukrainian army to fight the war against Russia. During this, Sainikesh's parents said that he already wanted to join the army. He also applied to join the Indian Army, but that application was rejected.
