Indore: After the ruling Congress was wiped out in Madhya Pradesh during the Lok Sabha elections, speculations about the change of state president have begun. Meanwhile, State Public Works Minister Sajjan Singh Verma has suggested the name of Home Minister Bala Bachchan as the new state president, saying that making him the state president will send a good message to the tribal community.

Asked about the speculation of the change of state Congress President, Verma said on Monday, "We have a big face as Home Minister Bala Bachchan. If he is handed over to the state Congress president, it will send a good message to the tribal class." Verma said, "I am naturally naming Bachchan based on my long experience in the field of politics. Bachchan belongs to a tribal community with 22 per cent of the population in the state.

Sajjan Singh Verma said, "The congress has won the largest number of SEATS reserved for the Scheduled Tribes in the November 2018 assembly elections. It helped us form the government." Verma ranks among his closest supporters.
