Recently it was learned that Rio Olympics bronze medalist Sakshi Malik Women and Under-23 World Championship silver medalist Ravinder will lead the Indian wrestling team in the ongoing South Asian Games (Saig) in Kathmandu, Nepal. . Wrestling will be from December 6 to 9. Eighty-seven wrestlers who have won gold medals in the Senior National Wrestling Championships have been included in the team. Women's Freestyle: Sheetal (50 kg), Pinky (53 kg), Sarita (57 kg), Anshu (59 kg), Sakshi Malik (62 kg), Anita Shyoran (68 kg), Gursharanpreet Kaur (76 kg).

Punjab's Gurpreet (97 kg) won the fourth national title by defeating two-time Junior World Championship medalist Sajan Banwal of Railways 3-1. This is Gurpreet's fourth win in five matches over Saajan. The railways' Sunil, who reached the final with a walkover, defeated Prabhapal of Punjab 5-1. Arjun (55 kg) of the Army won the gold medal by defeating Ajay 9-0 and Harpreet Singh (97 kg) of Punjab defeated Rajbir of Railways 4-1. On the other hand, the Railways team topped the table with 210 points, while Services (170) finished second and Jharkhand (109) finished third.
