Sakshi Malik beats opponent in wrestling, India's daughter creates history

In the women's 62 kg category of the Commonwealth Games 2022, Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik defeated Canadian Ana Paula to claim the gold medal. This is Sakshi's third medal at the Commonwealth Games. She has also won silver in 2014, and bronze in 2018. But this time, she has done well and won the gold medal. However, the final match was not that easy. The Canadian wrestler was leading 4-0 till the first round but Sakshi also won the gold medal by pinning her in the second round.  

Sakshi Malik's performance at the Games was like this:- 

Round 16 (bye): The Indian wrestler got a bye in round 16.  

Quarter-finals (victory): Sakshi had a match against England's Banners in which she was heavy from the beginning. She won the match 10-0.  

Semi-final (victory): Sakshi again appeared in the attack against Cameron's freestyle wrestler Berthe Eten Nagole. She did not give Berthe Eten a single chance to dominate and took the match 10-0 victory to her name.

Gold medal (Victory): Let us know that Sakshi faced Canadian freestyle wrestler Ana Paula Godinez Gonzalez. Anna was leading 4-0 in the first round but Sakshi turned the whole match around by pinning Anna in the second round and also won the gold medal.
