A young man lost his life wanting to live as a transgender woman. In fact, this is the case in Tamil Nadu where a 19-year-old son has been tragically killed by his mother. As part of the information received in the case, Salem police in Tamil Nadu have arrested the accused mother. Five other accused along with the mother have also reportedly been arrested. The deceased has been identified as Naveen, who changed his name to Akshita in the case. In fact, Naveen wanted to live as Akshita and his mother did not like it.
Naveen used to come and go to his mother often. Mother Uma Devi reportedly advised Naveen not to become a transwoman, but when he refused, Umadevi and five others attacked him. The case dates back to last week when the critically injured Naveen was admitted to a government hospital but Naveen succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police investigation into the case found that Naveen was murdered by his mother Uma Devi.
Police sources informed them that Uma Devi had forced Naveen to take hormones to remain a man and when Naveen refused to do so, Uma Devi and his accomplices attacked Naveen. Police have also arrested Venkatesh, Kamaraj, Karthikeyan, Santosh and Shivakumar besides Uma Devi in the case. Police are still investigating and interrogating them.
