Popular brand and Salman Khan’s NGO, Being Human has been blacklisted by the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai’s civic body. It has been blacklisted on accounts of not adhering to the responsibility the NGO took up voluntarily.

Being Human is registered as an NGO with the name “Being Human Foundation” founded by Salman Khan. The NGO is involved in several deeds of social service which are funded by charities and 10 per cent from clothing brand of the same name. This has boosted Salman Khan’s public image.

BMC has blacklisted Being Human for not working on a project allocated more than a year ago. The foundation was supposed to install 24 dialysis machines at Allied Cooperative Society located at St. John’s Road, Pali Hill in Mumbai. A senior offical from the BMC spoke to the media about the decision.

“Being Human, which was shortlisted for running the dialysis centre at Bandra (West), had paid the bank guarantee and was granted all the necessary permissions to go ahead with the project. But with the project not taking off, we have issued them a show-cause notice warning that they would be blacklisted,” informed the official.

Being Human has also responded to the decision advocating themselves. Loretta Lewis, on behalf of the foundation, told that only discussions were held in this regard and no official contracts were signed.
