New Delhi: Congress veteran Salman Khurshid has said that there is no immediate need for the election of the party's national president. He said on Sunday that can't see heavens falling' for need of elected Congress president. Khurshid said that Sonia Gandhi is still in this position and she should decide on the issue of party leadership.

Former Union Minister Khurshid is considered one of the most loyal people of the Gandhi family. In a recent interview, he said that even if the leaders writing letters for change in party leadership came to him, he would not sign the letter. Let us tell you that in the meeting of the Congress Working Committee held recently, there was a lot of ruckus on the part of a letter written by some leaders to the interim president of the party, Sonia Gandhi. The letter, written by 23 leaders including Shashi Tharoor and Ghulam Nabi Azad, spoke of bringing active and full-time leadership to the party.

Khurshid said that the leaders who wrote letters to Sonia Gandhi could always meet him and instead of writing could meet him and present their problems to him. He said that no one came to him with the issue of letter. And even if he comes, he does not sign it.
