Lucknow: Parveen Azad, wife of late CO Ziaul Haq, has expressed her opposition to Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party (SP) giving ticket to Gulshan Yadav from Kunda seat. In fact, in 2013, the CO posted at Kunda in the Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh was killed. Gulshan Yadav was charged with murder.

Apart from Gulshan, Kunda MLA and former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya was also named in the case. In such a situation, Parween Azad, wife of Ziaul Haq, also questioned the candidature of Raja Bhaiya, saying that in a democracy, there should be people of a clean and fair image among the people. CO Ziaul Haque was posted at Kunda in Pratapgarh. He was murdered in 2013. The murder was committed when he arrived to stop the chaos that broke out in the village following a dispute.

However, the incident shook the Akhilesh Yadav government in the state. Raghuraj Pratap alias Raja Bhaiya also had to resign from the cabinet. The case was investigated by the CBI. However, the CBI had given a clean chit to Raghuraj Pratap. But Parveen Azad had challenged the decision in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. Now the investigation against Raja Bhaiya, in this case, has resumed.
