Sonbhadra: A case has come to light in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district that a Samajwadi Party leader received a threatening letter from the so-called Naxalites. According to him, through the letter, money was demanded from him and for not doing so, he was threatened with death. Former District Panchayat member Gaya Singh, a resident of the town of Churk Chowki in Robertsganj Kotwali area of Sonbhadra, received a letter by post, threatening him.

In the threatening letter, it is written that '15 lakh rupees idol of Ambedkar Ji located in Urmaura, where there is a house on the south side of the road, will be kept there in a red bag or else it will be reduced to six inches from the top'. Along with this, two people have also been mentioned in this paper. Suraj Prasad Yadav, the elder brother of the victim, says that the family is in a panic due to the manner in which Naxalite activities and incidents have been taking place in the district. However, he is confident that the matter is being investigated by the administration and police and the case will be revealed soon.

At the same time, Additional Superintendent of Police Naxal Dr Sanjeev Kumar Singh has said that the victim has received a threatening letter which is under investigation. He said that prima facie this case does not seem to be Naxalite activities and the two persons mentioned in the letter are also being questioned. It seems that this work has been done by some mischievous elements, information will be given in this matter as the investigation progresses.
