Playback singer-dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripaada has been in the news ever since she made some explosive revelations about a few people from the industry, including one against lyricist Vairamuthu during the #MeToo movement in India. Among the very few to have supported Chinmayi during the tough times, was actress Samantha Akkineni, who showed all support for Chinmayi.
In a recent post on social media, singer Chinmayi revealed that she had just dubbed in one of Samantha's ad campaign recently. Expressing her gratitude for the support Samantha has shown her, Chinmayi wrote, "Some don't showboat how they support. They don't tweet. They don't publicize. They do it anyway. Not many in my own music fraternity have taken a stand that Sam has constantly taken despite pressure not to. It is NOT easy to stand up to the Radha Ravi's of the world. And she will forever be my rockstar."
"This is not showcasing myself as a victim: this is just the fact of my life. The truth doesn’t change because you don’t believe it," added Chinmayi. It is to be noted that when Chinmayi was ousted from the dubbing Union, ‘Oh Baby’ director Nandini Reddy and Samantha Akkineni decided to give her a chance to dub for the Tamil version of their upcoming film.
