Sameer washes coconut in drain water, arrested after video goes viral

Lucknow: A video of a man washing fruits with drain water in Uttar Pradesh's Noida has gone viral on social media. The name of the fruit seller seen in the viral video is Sameer. He is originally a resident of Bareilly. Taking cognizance of the viral video, the police have arrested the accused Sameer on Monday (June 5, 2023). Further legal action is being taken in the case.


The video is 25 seconds long and has gone viral on social media. It was shared on June 5 with the handle @pankaj_dreams. Some people are standing far away and making a video of this incident. The people who made the video are heard saying things like 'Mullah hi hai' and 'drain water is coming out'. According to the video, this place is being described as Sri Radha Krishna Sky Garden. This area falls under the Bisrakh police station area of Greater Noida. Pankaj Dwivedi, who shared the video, termed it an act of spreading infection.

Noida Police has given information about the action taken against the accused below this video. Along with this, the police have confirmed the arrest of the accused by sharing a picture of Sameer in custody. Bisrakh police have started legal action in the case. Sho Bisrakh Inspector Anil Rajput has told that 28-year-old Sameer's father's name is Yameen. Sameer is originally a resident of village Tigdi in Shishgarh police station area of Bareilly. At present, he lives in the slums near Radha Sky Garden. An FIR has been registered against Sameer under IPC sections 270 (deliberate and malicious act likely to spread infection or disease to the general public) and 504 and he has been arrested.
