The Mobile World Congress is set to make a comeback after skipping 2020. The exhibition is set to take place between June 28 and July 1 in Barcelona, Spain. As many as 50,000 people will be attending the event.

Number of tech companies have refused of in-person presentations, as it is still not safe to send out their employees. The latest to pull out is Samsung Electronics – if the company has anything to unveil at the MWC, it will do so virtually. The Samsung Group, South Korean multinational conglomerate will not be at the MWC in Barcelona, will participate remotely. The organizer of the MWC, the GSMA, will require attendees to show a negative test before arriving. They will have to be retested every three days as well for safety of all the attendees. Even so, Samsung and many others think it’s better to play it safe.

Other major tech companies Sony, Nokia, Google and Ericsson are among the biggest names that have pulled out of the exhibition. British Telecom, Facebook, Oracle and others will skip the event as well.
