Data about Indian smartphone users has been released by Counterpoint Research. According to this, Indians are planning to buy a new phone in the next 12 months. The counterpoint survey was conducted by 800 users from major cities in India. In the survey, smartphones priced at Rs 20,000 and above were placed in premium categories. A recent survey found a hard hit between Samsung and OnePlus's premium phones. The most important thing that was revealed in the survey was that Samsung's premium smartphone users think of replacing their phones faster than OnePlus users. A senior analyst at CounterPoint Research said that 6 out of every 10 Samsung users are planning to change their smartphones next year.

Of the 10 users of OnePlus, only 4 users have a desire to change their phones by next year, with the survey stating that 81% of users usually change their high-end smartphones within two years. Data released by the survey shows that smartphones worth Rs 20,000 or above have a replacement cycle of around 25 months.

As per the information received, the survey users said they could spend up to Rs 40,000 for their next smartphone. Also, 1 out of 5 users who participated in the survey can spend up to Rs 60,000 for their next smartphone. 8% of users said they could spend Rs 80,000 or more on the next phone. The features that users want on their next smartphone include Dust and Water Resistance (58%), In-Display Fingerprint Sensor (41%), Facial Recognising (39%), Dual and More Powerful Cameras ( 37%), Artificial Intelligence (37%), Punch-Hole Display (24%) and foldable display (22%) included.
