Mumbai, Sandeep Patil an Indian national cricket team chief selector has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Ajay Shirke about extending his tenure for another year, despite having already completed his four-year term.

According to the BCCI norms, a selector cannot hold his post for more than four years.

Patil had also applied for the post of Indian national team coach earlier this year.

However, the Cricket Advisory Committee did not call him for the interview and gave the Job to India’s legendary former spinner Anil Kumble, who does not have much experience in international level coaching.
