Mumbai: Senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has said that yesterday (June 29) when Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the CM's post, we all got emotional. He said everyone has faith in Uddhav Thackeray. They have the support of people of every caste and religion. Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar are sure of him. The MP further said that Shiv Sena is not born for power, but power is born for Shiv Sena. This has been Balasaheb Thackeray's mantra from the beginning. We will work and once again come back to power on our own.

In 2019, the Shiv Sena had contested the assembly elections in alliance with the BJP and broke the alliance to get the CM's chair after winning the election. After this, for the first time in history, shiv sena and congress came together, including NCP. For the CM's post, the Shiv Sena had severed its decades-old relationship with the BJP and joined hands with Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar. But after Uddhav took over for 2.5 years, when Shiv Sena MLAs felt that the party had strayed from Balasaheb Thackeray's Hindutva, they rebelled against this government. Even after making all the efforts to save his chair, Uddhav has now had to resign.

Let us know that amid the political battle of Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena has become the second to the fifth number party in the state. In fact, when the results of the state assembly elections came out, the Shiv Sena had emerged as the second-largest party after the BJP. But, now, two-and-a-half years later, the Shiv Sena is left with only 16 MLAs. In fact, 39 Shiv Sena MLAs have formed their own separate faction under the leadership of Eknath Shinde. In such a situation, after resigning from the CM's post, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena party will not be able to get the post of the main opposition leader i.e. leader of the opposition of the assembly. In terms of strength, the seat of the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly will now go to the NCP.
