Mumbai: Senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut has termed the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) summons as a conspiracy to stop him from fighting against political opponents. He said he would not be able to appear before the agency for questioning on Tuesday (June 28, 2022) as he has to attend a meeting in Alibag.

The ED has sent the summons to the Shiv Sena leader in a case related to the Pravin Raut and Patra Chawl land scam. After the ED's summons, Sanjay Raut tweeted, "ED has sent the summons. Good. Major political developments are going on in Maharashtra. We, The Shiv Sainiks of Balasaheb, are fighting a big battle. It's a big conspiracy to stop me. Even if my head is cut off, I will not take the route to Guwahati.'' Along with this, he wrote, "Arrest me! Jai Hind!'' At the same time, in his tweet written in the Marathi language, he had also tagged former CM Devendra Fadnavis.

According to the media report, the DIRECTOR of the HDIL who had committed these two land scams is Pravin Raut, Sarang Wadhawan, and Rakesh Wadhawan. Pravin Raut and Sarang were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in 2020. After this, shiv sena leader Sanjay Raut's connection came to light in the interrogation of the two. Let us know that Pravin Raut is a friend of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.

What is Patra Chawl's case:-

On April 5, 2022, in the Patra Chawl land scam case, the investigating agency had taken major action against Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut and attached his property. As part of the action, the ED had attached Raut's eight plots at Alibag and a flat in Dadar. In the same case, the investigating agency had also attached properties worth crores of rupees belonging to Pravin Raut. The investigating agency had attached properties worth Rs 11 crore. In this, the property related to Pravin Raut in Palghar is worth about Rs 9 crore. While the flat in Dadar is worth Rs 2 crore and the plot in Alibag is said to belong to the Shiv Sena MP's wife.
