Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji is in Ahmedabad today to promote her upcoming movie Hichki. Rani will be making a comeback with Hichki where she will be seen playing the role of a teacher suffering from Tourette syndrome. Rani was seen indulging in some kite flying activity as she enjoyed the pre-Makar Sankranti celebrations in Ahmedabad. Speaking about the promotional gimmick in Ahmedabad, a source earlier told a leading daily, "Rani wants to start her promotions for Hichki on Makar Sankranti, which is a holy day. The festival is dedicated to the Sun God, and it marks the beginning of a six-month long auspicious period known as Uttarayana. It is a day to pray and express thanks for success and prosperity. It couldn’t have been a better day to start the promotions."

The source further said, "There is a slew of activities that have been planned. The team wants to drive home the message of the film right from the start. Ahmedabad is the first city that Rani is visiting. She will visit eight more cities to promote Hichki."

Earlier, talking about how Rani trained herself for her role in Hichki, a source said, "Rani plays a common girl who has an extraordinary situation and she stares down at the challenge and never backs off when others would mostly crumble. She plays a teacher who practices what she preaches. She tries to bring out the best in her students. Rani drew upon memories of her school days and the friendly, supportive atmosphere that some teachers would build for students in her school to play the part. It was very nostalgic for her as she thanks her students for shaping her up the way she has in life.
