New Delhi: There is an atmosphere of celebration among farmers after PM Narendra Modi announced the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws, but farmers' organisations are not going to end the agitation immediately after the announcement. A general meeting of farmers' organisations has been convened today for further planning. The meeting is to brainstorm on what will be the strategy of the farmers' organizations next.
According to United Kisan Morcha (SKM) spokesperson Jagtar Singh Bajwa, there will be a meeting today and representatives of 32 organizations will participate. Before that, a 9-member committee will meet. On the other hand, a general meeting of the SKM will be held tomorrow on November 21, which will be attended by representatives of all 42 organizations. Farmers' organisations demand that all three agricultural laws be formally repealed by Parliament first. A law should be enacted at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The electricity amendment bill should be withdrawn. Farmers will gather at the singhu border for a new strategy. These meetings will decide when the farmers who have been frozen on Delhi's borders for the last year will be removed.
However, the United Kisan Morcha (SKM), a group of representatives of about 40 farmers' organisations in the country, has welcomed PM Modi's announcement to repeal the three Central Agricultural Laws. He also said that SKM will take cognizance of all developments and soon meet and announce further decisions.
