New Delhi/Kevadiya: In an extravagant event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the world’s tallest statue having a staggering height of 182 meters, Statue of Unity. It built in honour of India’s first Deputy Prime Minister of India. PM Narendra Modi received a hammer, the first farming equipment collected during Loha Campaign towards making Statue Of Unity Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. In order to build the Statue Of Unity, lakhs of farmers from all over India came together, gave their tools, portions of the soil and thus, a mass movement developed, PM Narendra Modi at the inauguration ceremony of world's tallest statue said.
This is a project that PM Modi had thought about during the time when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
In his address He said “Today is a day that will be remembered in the history of India, No Indian will ever forget this day”.
PM Modi remembered the iron man of India as saying, “The power of Sardar Saheb came to India when Maa Bharati was divided into more than five hundred princely states.There was great despair for India's future in the world.Pessimists felt that India would be disintegrated due to its diversity”.
He lauded “Sardari Patel had Kautilya's diplomacy and Shivaji's bravery.”
