New Delhi. Today is the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the freedom fighter and the first Home Minister of India. The Iron Man was born in 1875 on 31 October in Nadiad, Gujarat. On the occasion of his birth anniversary, a huge statue of his will also be unveiled by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. This statue, known as the Statue of Unity, is the tallest statue in the world. The height of this statue is 182 meters.

But do you know that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was so determined about the independence of the country that he quit his advocacy job for this. Yes, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel gave up advocating at a time when there used to be a lot of lawyers in the country and due to this, he used to get a good amount in return for fighting a case according to that time. But when Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel got a chance to fight for the freedom of the country, he left his advocacy without thinking anything and gave his life to the country.

Vallabhbhai Patel, born in an ordinary family of Gujarat, attended Law College in Middle Temple, England in July 1910, from where he had completed his course in half the time period due to his dedication and concentration. After this, he came back to the country and started advocating. After this, he came in direct contact with Gandhiji for the first time in 1917 and here he was so inspired by the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi that he gave up advocacy and participated in the freedom movement of India.
