The team also suffered a defeat in the first ICC Cricket World Cup warm-up match against Afghanistan by 3 wickets on Friday at the County Ground in Bristol. After facing a loss in the first warm-up game, Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed said that the team fell short of 10-15 runs.

Ahmed further said that bowlers didn't perform well during the powerplay and admitted that the team needs to work on that area of the game.

In the post-match presentation ceremony , Pakistan Skipper said, “We didn't have enough runs on the board. We were 15-20 runs short and we didn't bowl well in the first 10 overs. It is very tough when you are losing the matches. We are trying very hard and hopefully, we will do well very soon. Dressing room atmosphere is very good. We need to work on our bowling. Babar played a very good knock, he is our main batsman. Wahab is back in the team because of his pace and his reverse swing.”
