Chhindwara: A sarpanch of Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh has been arrested for attempting self-immolation. The District Magistrate has also given him a show cause notice. While the sarpanch was accusing the SDO and the deputy engineer of commission, Kori, they were demanding their investigation, while the two officers had accused the sarpanch of blackmailing him.

According to the information received, Shyamu Sahu, sarpanch of Mohkhed panchayat of the district, has been arrested by mohkhed police on Thursday. The sarpanch had accused some officials of the Janpad Panchayat of commissioning and warned of self-immolation in protest against the lack of an inquiry. Thereafter, he was creating a ruckus in front of the District of Bakaiq when as a precautionary measure, the police nabbed him and arrested him under Section 151. The employees have also complained to the sarpanch about creating ruckus in the Janpad Panchayat office and obstructing the official work. The police are investigating.

Let us tell you that gram panchayat sarpanch Shyamu Sahu had been demanding their investigation for the past several days accusing an SDO and deputy engineer posted in Janpad Panchayat Mohkhed of commissioning. It is being said that both the officers had also accused the sarpanch of forcibly blackmailing him. In such a situation, now there is a round of grievances from both the sides, which is being investigated. District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Suman, being the gram pradhan, has considered the act done by Shyamu Sahu to be contrary to the Gram Swaraj Act and considered it wrong. Due to which a prior notice of the proceedings of Section 40 has been given. At the same time, if a proper reply is not given by sarpanch Shyamu Sahu in 3 days, then they will also be able to take action under Section 40. The notice asks why you should not be separated from the post of pradhan.
