August 12th episode of the show Kaun Banega Crorepati 14 starts with a new segment ‘Play Along’. Different from previous seasons when every Friday a celebrity used to play with the host on the hot seat, this time there will be participants selected through online play along game.

Bollywood actor and Host Amitabh Bachchan introduces all the participants, who got a call from the show and rushed to the sets of KBC from their own houses.

Big B shares that many participants thought the calls to be fraud and imperiled to complaint.

Satyanarayana Subbaraya becomes the first ‘Play Along’ contestant to take the hot seat. He recalls, “It took me 22 years, one month and 9 days to reach 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. I still remember while I was studying in college in Mumbai, someone told me that on every Sunday Amitabh Bachchan comes to his balcony to greet his fans. So, I also went several times but never got an opportunity to see you. It is a dream come true moment. I can't even believe that I am sitting in front of you.”

The first contestant to take the hot seat on "Play Along" is Satyanarayana Subbaraya. “It took me 22 years, one month, and 9 days to get to 'Kaun Banega Crorepati”, he reveals. “I still recall hearing that Amitabh Bachchan visits his balcony to greet his fans every Sunday while I was attending college in Mumbai. I went several times as a result, but I never had the chance to see you. It is a moment of fulfillment. Even to think that I am seated in front of you is beyond belief.”

He says, "I have been watching the show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' since its beginning and always had desires that maybe one day, I will get a chance to be on the show. Since past few years I had given up the desire but this new segment came as sign and I participated again. From winning the fastest finger first round to sitting on the hot seat, the entire experience has been worth it."

Question for Rs 1000 – Which of these terms is common to the early years of school and a unit of weight? A. Ton, B. KG, C. MG, D. UG.

Big B tells Satyanarayana that he will relate to the word "kindergarten" because he had to leave his 3-year-old, flower-like toddler behind for KBC14. He says, "Main yaha pe leke aata agar wo phool swarup hoti. However, my child is a bandar (monkey). If I had brought her here, I'm not sure what she would have done. She is still learning the alphabets, but I am shocked that she can make calls on the phone. She doesn't know much, but they can use the phone. "Today's kids are very smart," adds Big B.

The participant shares cooking tricks and tips with the host and the latter says, “You are telling me as if I cook every day. I do not understand anything.”

He uses his first lifeline – Audience poll – to play question for Rs 3, 20,000. Apart from a bird, a tree, an animal and a flower, some Indian states have also adopted which of these as a state symbol? A. Spider, B. Honeybee, C. Butterfly, D. Beetle.

He answers Option C and wins the round.

Big B connects a video call to his family. He introduces his mother, wife and daughter. His wife tells Big B, “Inset oh roz baat karte hai, main apse baat karna chahti hu.” She tells him to praise him. Big B praises her hair.

Before leaving he has to select an option and he says Big B to lock option B. It turns out to be the correct answer. Big B applauds him for logically playing the game and getting to each answer. Satyanarayana says, “This risk was not worth it.” He goes home with Rs 25 lakh and the ‘Play Along’ game ends.
