Patna: RJD MLA from Thakurganj, Saud Alam, refused to sing Vande Mataram in the Bihar Assembly on Thursday, following which the ruling party leaders opposed it. Seeing the commotion, they walked out of the House. However, he was confronted by the media outside the House. The media asked why did you sit at the time of Vande Mataram? So all he said was that this is not a Hindu Rashtra. After that, he was seen avoiding questions from the media.

What is the matter?

In fact, BJP MLA Sanjay Kumar Singh saw Saud Alam sitting in the House due to Vande Mataram and asked him to stand up. Even after that, Saud Alam did not stand up. Then the ruling party MLAs started creating a ruckus. When Saud Alam did not stand up, BJP MLA Sanjay Kumar Singh started shouting and going out and on the premises, Sanjay Kumar Singh said that the way RJD MLA Saud Alam behaved will not be tolerated. Such people don't need to come to the House. He will be thrown out of the country. The Speaker of the Assembly should take strict action.

RJD MLA Akhtarul Islam Shaheen, on the other hand, defended Saud Alam, saying it was not mandatory to stand up for Vande Mataram. Only mass guns can stand in the mind. No one can put pressure on us to stand up at the time of Vande Mataram.
