Dubai: After three months, Saudi Arabia has once again come in second place in terms of selling oil to India. Saudi Arabia has left Russia behind in this case. At the same time, Iraq still remains the largest oil exporter to India. India is the world's third-largest oil importer. Currently, 8,63,950 barrels of crude oil are being imported daily from Saudi Arabia, up 4.8 per cent from the previous month. At the same time, imports from Russia have decreased by 2.4 per cent.

Oil imports from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries have fallen by 59 per cent, the lowest in 16 years, even after the increase in oil imports from Saudi Arabia. One of the reasons for this is that India has significantly reduced oil imports from African countries. After the attack on Ukraine, many Western countries stopped importing oil from Russia. Therefore, India became the second largest country to import oil from Russia after China.

After the ban on Russia, India did not stop importing oil from Russia to avoid the crisis in the Western countries and keeping in mind the public. India did not even publicly condemn the Russian attack. Now PM Narendra Modi can meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the SCO Summit. In June, India imported a large amount of oil from Russia, but then Russia reduced the discount, after which imports by India were reduced.
