According to media reports, Riyadh resented the participation of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Kuala Lumpur summit to be held in Malaysia from December 18-20, after which Khan withdrew his decision. Earlier on December 20, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ayesha Farooqui had said that Pakistan would not participate in the Kuala Lumpur Summit. The reason for attending the summit was told by the Government of Pakistan that Islamabad wants to maintain its neutrality in these matters.
