Washington DC [USA], Jan 13 (NT): For the first time in the history of Saudi, women of Saudi Arabia cross the threshold of a sports stadium to watch the soccer match between two local teams in Jeddah.

Though, the women were set aside in the stands from the male-only crowd with nominated seating in the supposed family section at King Abdullah Sports City stadium, as per reports of ABC News.

This set-up of the harsh gender isolation was declared in October 2017, as a part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's pushy reforms to revise Saudi society and make better the economy.

The order released the earlier in male-only spots of King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, and Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam to hold families.

The Saudi General Sports Authority made a statement that it is ready to make all the compulsory preparations to generate an attractive sports ambiance for families and to make sure their privacy.

Saudi Arabia, which was the only nation around the globe to prohibit female drivers, last year also permitted women to drive in the nation. (NT)
