India bagged a second gold medal at the ongoing ISSF World Cup as brilliant shooter Saurabh Chaudhary clinched the country's second gold medal at the ongoing ISSF World Cup at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi on Sunday
Saurabh attained the top spot in the 10m air pistol event of the World Cup with a world record score of 245.0. He got the better of Serbia's Damir Mikec (silver). On the other hand, China's Wei Pang settled for bronze with a score of 215.2.

Saurabh showed no signs of nervousness despite featuring in his maiden senior World Cup finals. In fact, he had sealed the deal before the final shot. As a result, he was aiming for a world record in his final attempt.
Saurabh also cemented a spot in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by virtue of holding onto a quota place from this event for the mega event in the next calendar year. Saurabh was backed by the home crowd who came in large numbers.

Talking his performance, Saurabh told to TOI, "I knew I had a big lead but didn't bother about it. Just kept doing what I was doing. I have shot with such a crowd everywhere, but never bothered about it. It was the same at the Asian Games in Jakarta. On the quota, I never thought about it, just wanted to do my best. And I never thought I would make a world record."
