Sawan 2023: Brief Story: According to Hindu scriptures, during the churning of the ocean, known as Samudra Manthan, numerous auspicious objects emerged along with the poison known as Halahal. These objects included countless gems, jewels, the Kaamdhenu Cow, and an Elephant named Airawat. However, both demons and deities were alarmed by the destructive potential of the poison, as it had the power to annihilate the entire world and everything within it.

In a remarkable display of bravery, Lord Shiva gallantly intervened and courageously consumed all the poisonous substance, harboring it within his throat. As a consequence, his once-pale throat transformed into a majestic shade of blue, leading to his revered appellation as Neelkanth. By doing so, Lord Shiva valiantly safeguarded the entire world from the perils of this lethal venom. Witnessing this selfless act, both demons and deities were inspired to offer the sacred waters of the Ganga, seeking to alleviate the harmful effects of the poison. Since that momentous event, this month has been celebrated as Shravan month, an auspicious period held in high regard throughout the year.
