The State Bank of India (SBI) is working towards launching an e-commerce portal to promote marketing of products for micro, small and medium enterprises. In the name of Bharat Craft, this portal will be operated in collaboration with the government. Bank chairman Rajnish Kumar gave this information on Saturday. In a webinar organized by CII, Rajnish Kumar said, 'Work is going on in this regards. We have prepared a blueprint for how this will be done. It will start soon.' MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari once mentioned this.

SBI chairman has not yet told that when this portal will come into operation. He said that the role of MSME sector in the economy is very important and the government has taken many reforms measures to help them. Changing the definition of MSME is one such step, which will benefit many companies.

SBI has approved loans under the Emergency Loan Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) to more than four lakh units of the MSME sector affected by the nationwide lockdown due to the Corona epidemic. On the occasion of International MSME Day, SBI Managing Director CS Shetty addressed people associated with MSME and employees of the bank. SBI said that during this period, information was given about SME products to increase awareness among customers and help them choose the right product for their business. A senior bank official said that about Rs 20,000 crore has been approved so far under the loan guarantee scheme.
