NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has asked Independent MLAs in Karnataka to withdraw their plea on floor test. The Supreme Court has allowed two independent MLAs of Karnataka to withdraw their plea to Karnataka Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar for early conduct of floor test by the HD Kumaraswamy government. A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi took note of the submission of senior lawyers representing the speaker and Kumaraswamy that he had no objection to withdrawing the petition. In Karnataka, the process of forming a new government has intensified.
On the one hand, Karnataka BJP leaders and Amit Shah are meeting in Delhi and on the other hand the case of rebel MLAs is being heard in the Supreme Court. During the hearing on the Karnataka case, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi got angry with the rebel MLAs' lawyer Mukul Rohatgi. He has asked the rebel MLAs' lawyer Mukul Rohatgi to appear before the court. The Chief Justice said that whether there is a hearing at 2 pm or a hearing at midnight, we want the lawyers to be present in the court.
