The Election Commission has been issued notice today by supreme court over a petition filed by lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma on tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM's) in recently conducted Assembly Elections in five states i.e Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, and Goa.
The notice has been issued by the bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Jagdish Singh Khehar including Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and D. Y. Chandrachud.
In the petition, he claims that the EVMs tampered during the elections in five states and the machines should be checked.
