New Delhi:Friday, 06 May 2016:The Supreme Court agreed to hear the plea of Sahara Chief ,Subrata Roy looking for parole to make cremation rites of his mother who passed away in the minute hours today.

Roy has been in Tihar jail since March 4, 2014 on the orders of the apex court in link with a long running argument with market regulator SEBI.

Chief Justice T S Thakur,the bench head said, “ the matter would be taken up by the appropriate bench at 2 pm, after senior advocate Kapil Sibal sought parole for the beleaguered businessman.”

Roy's mother Chhabi Roy, 95, passed away in Lucknow after two year long illness.
