New Delhi: As the country’s premier investigative agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation, come to grips with an unprecedented internal tussele, today everyone waits Supreme Court verdict  when it will hear a plea filed by CBI director Alok Verma  and Prashant Bhushan against the Centre's order sending him on leave.

Mean while Trinamool Congress is to join the Congress party protest led by Rahul Gandhi at Central Bureau of Investigation headquarters against the removal of CBI Director Alok Verma.

The Congress, led by party president Rahul Gandhi, will today hold protests outside all CBI offices across the nation. They are seeking an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "destroying" CBI’s image and will demand the ‘reinstatement’ of agency director Alok Verma who has been sent on forced leave. Trinamool Congress will join the protest at Central Bureau of Investigation headquarters.

Reports suggested that CBI spokesperson Abhishek Dayal stated that M Nageswar Rao is only holding charge as interim director until the Central Vigilance Commission  investigates the allegations and counter claims.

He added that Alok Verma continues to remain director of CBI while Asthana remains special director.

Worth mention here the government divested on dispute to  CBI director Alok Verma and his deputy Rakesh Asthana  from their duties.
