The famous Television show Ramayana cast 'Arya Sumant' is no more. Popular veteran actor Chandrashekhar has passed away at the age of 98. He breathed his last at around 7 am on Wednesday. Chandrashekhar played sumant in the popular television show Ramayana. He is the maternal grandfather of television actor Shakti Arora.

Chandrashekhar's son Prof Ashok Chandrasekhar confirmed the death of his father. Ashok said the funeral of his wife Chandrashekhar will be held at Vile Parle Crematorium at 3 pm on Wednesday. Chandrashekhar died due to problems caused by aging. He had written popularity among the audience through Ramayana Seer Yil.

Chandrashekhar was born on July 7, 1922. His life was full of struggles. He was married at the age of 13, which led to his dropout after class VII. There was a time when Chandrashekhar had to work as a watchman and also to build a trolley. He has also been a part of the Quit India Movement. Chandrashekhar had also worked in several movies before the Ramayana. He has been a popular actor of the 1950s. Chandrashekhar's full name is Chandrashekhar Vidya. He made his debut with the film Aurat Teri Yeh Kahaani. The movie was made by V Shantaram in the year 1954. He had worked in about 112 projects.
