In view of the rising cases of corona epidemic in the midst of growing cold since November and the cases of infection in children reported after school opening in some states, it has been decided to remain closed at present by various state governments. The schools have been announced to be closed for the time being by some state governments and in some states where the schools were allowed to open, orders have been issued by the state government to close it again. The states which have announced to keep the schools closed till 31 December at present include Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam etc.

Assam: The state government has issued instructions to open all government and private schools till from next year ie January 1, 2021. In view of the situation of corona epidemic in the state, according to the order issued by the state government yesterday, the students have been given permission to organize physical classes from 1 January 2021 for classes 6 to 12 in schools. However, the final decision in this regard will be taken only after the state government assesses the epidemic situation. The exemption has been given to open last year students of colleges and universities of the state and for residential 10th and 12th students in schools from December 15 itself.

Rajasthan: The state government has announced the closure of all government and non-government schools as well as colleges and universities till 31 December 2020. Earlier also the government had announced to keep the schools closed till 30 November, which has been extended for the next one month. This announcement has been made by the state government in view of the increasing corona cases in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir: The administration has also announced to keep all government and private schools closed till December 31. According to the instructions issued by the Chairman and Chief Secretary of the State Executive Committee on November 29, 2020, this decision has been taken in view of heavy snowfall along with the ever-increasing cases of COVID-19.

Himachal Pradesh: The state government has decided on Monday that all schools and colleges from the state will remain closed till 31 December 2020. Schools were allowed to open in the state from November 1, but in view of the reported cases of infection, the state government announced the closure of schools by November 25. Suresh Bhardwaj, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs in the state government said that now the schools will be closed till 31 December.

Delhi: In response to a question recently asked by Health Minister Satyendar Jain regarding the opening of government and private schools in Delhi, according to media reports, he said that the schools will not open until the state government protects the students.
