President Obama's decision to create world's largest marine reservoir has finally got its due recognition as a new fish discovered in 300 feet deep waters off Kure Atoll is being named after him.

According to National Geographic, the Obama fish is “the one fish known to live only within the Papahānaumokuākeaa Marine National Monument.” Because of this fact, a team of 3 scientists decided to name the fish after the president, who last week expanded the Papahānaumokuākea to more than 4 times its size.
The tiny fish dubbed as Tosanoides Obama, will be joining the leagues of another fish named after him- Etheostoma Obama, which is a species of darters found only in the Duck River and the Buffalo River.

Talking about the red and blue colored dorsal fin of the new Obama fish, Richard Pyle, the marine biologist who discovered the new species, said ,“It’s very reminiscent of Obama’s logo,” further adding, “How appropriate that a fish we were thinking about naming after him anyway, just to say thank you for expanding the national monument, happens to have a feature that ties it to the president.”
