Qingdao [China], Jun 9 (NT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed Qingdao city in China's Shandong Province on Saturday afternoon to be present at two-day 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.

He was warmly received at Qingdao Liuting International Airport by China's Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui, Vice Governor Shandong Province Ren Airong and Vice Mayor Qingdao City Zhang Deping.

EAM spokeperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted, “Ni hao Qingdao! Prime Minister @narendramodi warmly welcomed on his arrival for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in the beautiful port city of Qingdao. India is looking forward to contribute towards a successful outcome from the Summit”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Le Meridien in China's Qingdao. He will be attending the SCO Summit and will hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Worth mention here With 8 members, SCO represents approximately 42 percent of the world’s population, 22 percent of the land area and 20 percent of the GDP. SCO focuses on  political, economic, security and cultural cooperation and enables India to engage with Central Asian countries.
