New Delhi: The two European teams that qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the West Indies and the United States of America, were Scotland and Ireland.

The hosts Scotland defeated Denmark by 33 runs to advance to the prestigious tournament after missing the 50 Over World Cup in India this year. On Thursday, Ireland advanced to the tournament in the Europe Region Qualifier thanks to a washout against Germany.

Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Jersey, Italy, Denmark, and Austria were on the regional finals team. The top two teams advance to the esteemed T20 World Cup in 2024 after playing each other once.

Scotland won five out of five games to earn a spot in the competition. On July 20, 2023, at the Golderence Sports Ground in Edinburgh, they made a powerful showing against Germany and won by 72 runs using the DLS method to start their journey.

On July 25, Scotland crushed Austria by 166 runs, thanks in large part to George Munsey's 132 off 61 deliveries. Today's final league game saw the team captained by Richard Berrington win by a commanding margin of 33 runs.

Scotland missed the bus to the 2023 World Cup, so this is a tremendous accomplishment. There will be 20 teams competing in the T20 World Cup in 2024.

In the points standings during the qualifying round, Ireland came in second. They won by a slim margin of 7 runs against Italy on July 20 to start the tournament. Ireland scored 158 for 8 while Italy made 151 for 9, making it a very close match.

Ireland outclassed Denmark in the second game, defeating them by a score of 9 wickets. Ireland easily reaches the target while Denmark posted a score of 122 for 9. On July 23, Ireland defeated Austria by a score of 128 runs in the third game.

At The Grange Club in Edinburgh on July 21, Scotland defeated Jersey after a hard-fought match by a margin of 14 runs. On July 24, in the third of three matches, they produced another resounding victory over Italy, this time by a huge margin of 155 runs.

Then they defeated Jersey by nine wickets after putting on another outstanding performance. Ireland was able to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 because the final league match against Germany was postponed due to rain.

Scotland and Ireland were both absent from the 2023 World Cup. On July 28, 2023, they will square off in the tournament finals. Ireland will aim to build on their impressive performance, which will give them more confidence going into the T20I series against India in August.
