New Delhi: An early agreement is expected between farmers and the government, who have been protesting on the Delhi border for 1 year. A six-point resolution from the Home Ministry and a meeting with members of the United Kisan Morcha was held on Tuesday. Out of these proposals, 3 are not agreed upon by the farmer leader. He has sought a response from the Government. Further decision will be taken at the Morcha meeting at 2 pm today (Wednesday). Now the solution to the movement depends on the Centre's response. Farmer leader Kulwant Singh Sandhu said that most of the farmers' organisations have consensus and the government has accepted most of our demands. The official announcement of the decision is scheduled to take place after Wednesday's meeting. Another farmer leader associated with SKM also said that the agitation is also expected to end on Wednesday.
The remaining demands of farmers' organisations have also been approved by the Central Government on Tuesday. After receiving the proposal of the Union Home Ministry in this regard, the SKM held a meeting at Kundli Border and expressed happiness over the compliance of the demands. However, some shortcomings have also been pointed out in the government's proposal. They have reservations, especially with the members who have joined the proposed committee on MSP.
Senior SKM leader Balbir Singh Rajewal has said that pm Modi himself and later the Agriculture Minister have announced to form a committee on MSP. It also talks about the involvement of representatives of central government, state government, farmers' organizations and agricultural scientists. The Front wants the names of those in the Committee to be clarified. There should not be people in the Committee who were also present in making laws with the Government. He has said, "It is expected to be clarified by the government by Wednesday. Even on the Electricity Amendment Bill, the farmers' organisation is still not ready to accept it. The Bill is also set to propose a National Selection Committee for appointment of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission. Farmers also object to Section 15 of the Law relating to stubble. Farmer leader Ashok Dhaanle has said that there must be a time frame for withdrawal of the case. On the other hand, Gurnam Chadhuni has said that farmers suspect that the government may not turn around. While Shivakumar Kakka said that we want a letter on the letter head of the Union Home Ministry. It is also signed by Home Minister Amit Shah.
