Scrumptious Cabbage Parathas: Have it as a snack, or as a wholesome meal

The Cabbage Parathas are a good source of antioxidant compounds that fight against free radicals.

These nutritious parathas are stuffed with a scrumptious mixture of cabbage and cottage cheese flavoured with coriander and green chillies.

Ingredients:-

For The Dough

3/4 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)

1 tsp melted ghee

salt to taste

For The Stuffing

1 cup grated cabbage

1/4 cup crumbled paneer

2 tbsp chopped coriander 

1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies

salt to taste

Other Ingredients

whole wheat flour for rolling

1 1/4 tsp oil for cooking

Direction:-

For the dough

1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough water. Keep aside.

For the stuffing

1. Sprinkle little salt over the cabbage and keep aside for 10 minutes.

2. Squeeze out the water from the cabbage, add the paneer, coriander, green chillies and salt and mix well.

3. Divide the stuffing into 5 equal portions and keep aside.

How to proceed

1. Divide the dough into 5 equal portions.

2. Roll out one portion of the dough into a 150 mm. (6”) diameter circle using a little wheat flour for rolling.

3. Place a portion of the prepared stuffing on half of the circle and fold it over to make a semi-circle.

4. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and cook the paratha, using ¼ tsp of oil, till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.

5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 to make 4 more parathas.

Serve hot with Chutney or Dahi !
