Chandigarh: A surprising incident has come to light in Haryana. Here the State Vigilance Bureau has arrested Hathin SDM and 3 persons of his family for taking bribes. It is alleged that the SDM had taken a bribe of Rs 9.60 lakh to make a candidate win in the Zilla Parishad elections in Haryana. The culprit SDM has been identified as Vakil Ahmed. The State Vigilance Bureau has arrested two brothers and an uncle of the SDM. 

According to the State Vigilance Bureau, a woman from Nuh had lodged a complaint with the bureau that the SDM had accomplished a deal of Rs 10 lakh in the name of helping her win the Zilla Parishad elections. Thereafter, the SDM and his family took a bribe of 9.60 lakhs from the woman. Not only this, but the woman had also presented many evidences including call details. Thereafter, the State Vigilance Bureau arrested four persons including the SDM on Sunday. 

State Vigilance Bureau spokesperson Jitendra Kumar said that four persons including the SDM were arrested. All of them are being questioned. All the criminals will be produced in court today. A case has been registered in the matter under sections 384 (extortion), 420 (cheating), 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, and sections 7A and 13(1)B of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
