Capital Markets regulator Sebi on Friday came out with a framework to promote ease of doing business and bring uniformity in the timelines for processing scheme-related applications filed by asset management companies (AMCs). Under the framework, the application filed by AMCs for certain matters may be deemed to be taken on record in case no modifications are suggested or no queries are raised by Sebi within 21 working days, the regulator said in a circular.

In a separate Sebi news, it reads,  the market regulator has extended the deadline for 100 listed entities to hold their annual general meeting by one month to six months, from the five months directed earlier, a SEBI circular said. This comes after the Sebi received representations from listed entities and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India seeking an extension of the timeline for holding an annual general meeting, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
